JCFK are happy to inform that Sphiwe Masilela - Viola, Daisy Mangwato - guitar and Sibongile Buda - double bass will participate at JCFK -09 this summer. They all come from Mamelodi organisation called CAFCA (http://www.cafca.co.za/), one of mminos funded projects based in Mamelodi township (a township near Pretoria), which was offering music lessons at SOS Children's Village in Mamelodi. Some of them are currently students enrolled in in a music degree at University of South Africa (UNISA).

JCFK would like to thank mmino, the south african - norwegian music education and exchange cooperation, and Janneke Strijdonk Xulu, project coordinator, for the collaboration and funding to our project. (mmino provides funding to both organisations and individuals and attempts to establish and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships between Norway and South Africa in the field of music. mmino is linked to the national arts council - but has a separate budget and funding procedure - and works in partnership with the norwegian rikskonsertene in Oslo). www.mmino.org.za

JCFK are also pleased to inform that Chantal Willie (SA) - Bassist / Vocalist / Composer / Bandleader from Cape Town is one of the head mistress at JCFK -09 and a source of inspiration the whole week through.
