Maggi Olin

Maggi Olin - pianist / composer

Maggi Olin is a Swedish pianist and composer from Skåne. She is also a teacher at both Fridhem- og Skurups Folkhøgskola, Malmø Musikkhøgskola, and Rythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. She has been acknowledged with many different awards and scholarships (STIM, SKAP, Konstnärsnämnden, Malmö cultural scholarship, Musikerförbundet's scholarship, Jazzkannan 2004) and she was the first female in Sweden to receive Jazzkatten - an award handed out at the Swedish Jazzcelebration in March 2007.

She has been touring with the group No Bass in the USA, and with Maggi Olin Band in Mexico, in addition to a big number of tours in Sweden and Denmark through the years. She's been freelancing with different bands, composing for Jazzmonitor in 2001 and lots of children's music for theatrical groups, and worked together with the Swedish cultural institution and Konstnärsnämnden.
